Animal Cruelty
The Jersey Shore Animal Center currently has certified Animal Cruelty Officers on staff. If you would like to report a case of suspected animal cruelty in the Township of Brick or Borough of Mantoloking please call us at: 732-920-1600. You may give the details to a desk supervisor or desk clerk and you will be able to remain anonymous. We are unable to take reports of cruelty via our email.
Our Animal Cruelty Officers will investigate all complaints and take action if required.
- The JSAC has the authority to issue summonses in response to the conditions found.
- The JSAC does not have the authority to arrest people nor do we carry weapons of any kind.
- The JSAC does not respond to barking dog calls. These calls must be handled by the Brick Police Department.
The most common complaint received is failure to provide sustenance. This is the failure of a pet owner to supply the basics to sustain life. This includes fresh water, food, veterinary care and adequate shelter for protection from the elements.

Lawson was adopted from us and recently returned because one of his owners passed away. This little guy has been through so much and we are deeply saddened that we have to find him a new forever home.
